You can use the following steps for the process of moving Pam360 to a different server.
In order for mail relay to work on the new server, permissions may also need to be granted to the new device.
It is recommended to take a snapshot of the existing Pam360 server before the process.
1) Server Migration:
On the existing server:
- Stop the PAM service in the old server (if running) and exit the tray icon
- Make sure that the Postgres process is not running in Task Manager.
- Take a Copy of the entire PAM installation folder and move it to the new server.
On the new server:
- Login into the new server and open the command prompt as an administrator in the new server
- Navigate to Copied <PAM_Installation_Folder>\bin directory and execute the command pam360.bat install (To install the PMP service)
- Once the migration is successful, move the encryption key(pam360_key.key) from the old server conf folder to the new server conf folder, and specify the correct location of pam360_key.key inside manage_key.conf (which is also inside the conf folder)
Start the PAM service on the new server.
- To get the tray icon, go to <PAM_Installation_Folder> and right-click on pmp.exe then select properties, choose the compatibility tab then select run this program as administrator, click apply & ok and double-click on pam360 .exe to get the tray icon back.
- To update the hostname, please navigate to the <PAM_Installation_Folder>\conf folder and edit and open the server.conf file and update the correct hostname. Also, before accessing the URL, make sure to add the proper DNS entry in the hostname file of the server. Once done, you can start the PMP service and check if everything works fine.
Afterwards, the Recorded files directory may also need to be updated.
- By default, the session recordings are stored in the path <PAM360_Install_Directory\PAM360\recorded_files>. You can either copy the session recorded folder from the old PAM360 Application and move it to the New PAM360 Application or If you wish, you can also change the external storage location for recordings by navigating to Admin >> Connections >> Session configuration in the New PAM360 interface.
