Creating a Read-Only Permission Role in Endpoint Central, Remote Desktop Sharing

Hello,

In today's article, we will explain how to create a role with read only permission for Remote Desktop Sharing on Endpoint Central.

To do this, please go to the Endpoint Central interface as in the sample screenshot below.

After accessing the interface, click on Admin>User Administration.

Then let's go to the "Role" tab as in the picture above.

After specifying your Role name and description here, please mark the Tick in the Read section in the Remote Desktop Sharing module and save the other settings by leaving them at Default.

After defining our roles, please go to the server where Endpoint Central is installed.

Please stop the Endpoint Central service from services.

Next, go to the file location where Endpoint Central is installed and find the "wssettings.conf" file in the "Conf" folder and edit it.

Let's change the "false" part in the "RDSViewOnlyMode=false" statement in this file to "true" and save it.

After completing this process, let's start the Endpoint Central service.

If we have successfully completed the above steps, you have now created a role with read-only permission that your team leaders can use.

Thank you for reading,

Kind regards.
