Windows 11 24H2 Update Issues with Cisco and Other Apps

Explanation:

Windows 11's 24H2 update has been flagged as "problematic" for certain applications by some organizations, such as Cisco.

Users who applied this update have reported that some of their software is not working.

Solution:

Enabling Location Services:
The only solution to the problem identified so far is to enable location services.

When location services are enabled, the problems of the relevant applications are resolved.

Some institutions or companies may postpone the update transition (24H2) (suspend the task) because they do not want to open location services due to security/policy reasons.

Suggestion:

In cases you encounter, it is recommended to first activate location services .

In order to open the location service via EPC , a Registry record change will be required.

To do this, please access the Configurations section via the Endpoint Central console and create a Computer-Based Registry record configuration.

You will see a screen like the one below:

On this screen, select the "Import" option in the Configure Registry Settings section, extract the file I will share in the attachment from the zip and browse to EPC from here.

After browsing, you can proceed by selecting the machines to be sent from the Define Target section and distribute the configuration to the devices you want.

In this way, by changing the Registry records, Location services will be opened on the machines and 24h2 will not cause problems for certain applications.
