Servicedesk Plus - Changing Local Account Password Using Script

Reset Local Authentication Password

You can follow the steps below to activate local authentication when logging into the SDP portal or to easily change the password of accounts used with local authentication.

How can you change the password of your local accounts using script ?

*This script can be used in Servicedesk Plus 9400 and above versions. (Suitable for current versions)

You can change the password of your existing local accounts or activate Local Authentication to use it when logging into the Servicedesk Plus portal by following the steps below.

1. Download the zip file appropriate for the operating system of the application server (you can find the reset_linux.zip files for Linux and reset_windows.zip files for Windows in the attachment.)

2. After extracting the files from the .zip, paste the resetpassword.bat file to the Servicedesk>bin directory on the server where SDP is installed .

Paste the reset.jar file into the Servicedesk>lib directory.

3. Open command prompt/CMD as administrator, go to Servicedesk>bin directory and run resetpassword.bat script

4- Proceed with step 1 to activate local authentication, and step 2 to change your local account password.

5- In the next step, you can enter the login name of your local account and then set your new password.

6- After the password is successfully reset, it is not necessary to restart the SDP service. You can try to log in to the SDP portal with the current password. (If you proceed with 1 and Local Authentication is activated, a restart is required.)

To inform: This process was last tested and completed successfully in Servicedesk Plus version 14850. If you experience any problems during execution, you can contact us.
*It is recommended that you delete the files you copied after resetting your password.
